Introduction
These pages tell the story of the U.S.S. Davenport, a Tacoma Class U.S. Navy Patrol Frigate that was manned by U.S. Coast Guard personnel. During 1945, she saw duty on an anti-sub patrol, as an escort for a North Atlantic convoy and as a weather ship off the coast of Newfoundland, logging more than 24,000 nautical miles at sea. | |
