On one of
the few calm days while the USS Davenport was on weather patrol
in the North Atlantic near Greenland, the Captain asked the
ship's photographer to take a series of photos of the ship.
Coxswain Duncan M. Hall was given the assignment to take S1/c Don
F. Roban out in a motor lifeboat so that he could take the photos.
In the photo above, Duncan Hall is shown at the tiller of the
motor lifeboat, with the USS Davenport in the background.
